CASE 01

Teenage athlete who was a training for 100mts sprint had developed pain in the posterior aspect of the knee joint following 1 yr after training and contesting and winning tournaments. The cause of the pain was not linked to any injury or any trauma.


On investigation clinically and radiologically it was found that she had collection in the posterior aspect of the knee joint. She underwent physio and stretching exercises with no relief, She underwent knee arthroscopy and the collection was drained from the posterior aspect of the knee jt close to the neurovascular bundle. She is now asymptomatic and did continue with her training process and win medals.

CASE 02

There was a gentleman who had sustained multi-ligamentous injury to the knee joint following an injury. He underwent arthroscopic reconstruction of the cruciates. He is back to his day to day activities 2months following the surgery without any aid.
